An inhibitor of GGT used for solid tumor researchAcivicin is an antineoplastic antibiotic believed to act by interfering with glutamine metabolism which has been administered for research in a variety of solid tumors. Bone marrow depression and central neurotoxicity has been observed to suggest that it may be dose-limiting. Acivicin is an irreversible inhibitor of GGT (γ-glutamyl transpeptidase) ID50 = 0.54 mM. Additionally, it inhibits the enzymatic conversion of leukotriene C4 to leukotriene D4 and the bioactivation and release of nitric oxide from GSNO6. Also, the product displays anti tumor and anti-metastatic activity and blocks H. Pylori GGT-induced T-cell inhibition.
