General description

A heterogeneous mixture of ribonucleases specially prepared to be free of deoxyribonuclease activity according to the current Quality Control procedures.

Application

High concentration, DNase-free RNase has been used for:

• Genomic DNA isolation
• Isolation of plasmid DNA
• Degradation of RNA for flow cytometry

Quality

Absence of DNase activity tested according to the current Quality Control procedures.

Unit Definition

One unit is the enzyme activity that causes a decrease in absorbance of A₀ to A₁ within 1 minute under assay conditions: A₀ to A₁ corresponds to the total conversion, A₁ being the final absorbance.

Preparation Note

Working concentration: 50 μg/ml is the recommended working concentration of RNase, DNase-free, for the isolation of genomic DNA.
Working solution: Recommended in dilution buffer: 10 mM Tris-HCl, 5 mM CaCl₂, 50% glycerol (v/v), pH 7.0
