General description

A cell-permeable and specific activator of phospholipase C (PLC). Reported to stimulate PLC-mediated intracellular Ca²⁺ release, inositol phosphate production, and superoxide generation in various cell types. Activates all PLC isotypes (β2, β3, γ1, &gamma2, and δ1) in vitro, but does not exhibit any effect on heterotrimeric G proteins, PI 3-kinase, or phospholipase D.

A novel sulfonamide compound that acts as a cell-permeable and specific activator of phospholipase C (PLC). Shown to stimulate the PLC-mediated intracellular Ca²⁺ release, inositol phosphates production, and superoxide generation in various cell types. It activates all PLC isotypes (β2, β3, γ1, γ2, and δ1) in vitro, but not heterotrimeric G proteins, PI 3-kinase, or PLD.
