Precision designed and manufactured, large orifice sampler and skimmer cones provide superior long-term stability and resist clogging, allowing analysis under both high and low sample uptake conditions. Nickel is very rugged, long-lasting material for the majority of sample types, while platinum is the material of choice for the more corrosive samples. The sampler cone, with a 1.1 mm orifice diameter, and the skimmer cone, with a 0.9 mm orifice diameter, are the largest in the industry. They have been designed to maximize signal stability and to minimize clogging during extended runs of samples containing high dissolved solids. The sampler cone, which is continually exposed to the plasma and the sample, utilizes a threadless pop-in, pop-out design for rapid removal.
