Cell Line Description

A 6-thioguanine-resistant clone of N18 (a clonal line produced from the mouse neuroblastoma C1300). (Mouse strain A/Jax). This cell line exhibits high levels of acetylcholinesterase. Found to be tumourigenic in BALB/c nude mice.

Application

Used in the generation of cell hybrids.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2 mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 0.1 mM 6-thioguanine

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
