Littman Bile HiVegTM broth base ( Formerly Littman Oxgall HiVegTM broth Base) is used for selective enrichment and cultivation of pathogenic fungi. Crystal violet and Streptomycin has inhibitory effect on most of the bacteria. Synthetic detergent No. II restricts spreading of fungal colonies. The neutral pH favors the growth of many pathogenic fungi. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
