King's OF HiVeg Medium Base, 5KG

Kings OF Medium Base, HiVegTM is used for studying oxidation-fermentation of carbohydrates by Campylobacter species. Hiveg media is formulated as recommended by APHA for studying the oxidation-fermentation reaction of carbohydrates by Campylobacter species. Oxidation of carbohydrate is indicated by a yellow color formation. The medium will be yellow (acid) when removed from the microaerobic atmosphere due to CO2 absorption. To read OF reactions, let the tubes stand at room temperature until the OF control becomes neutral or alkaline, usually within 2 hours. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
