Applications Standard, unstabilized solutions of L-glutamine spontaneously break down over time to release cytotoxic amines. Glutamine XL is a stabilized solution that prevents degradation and cytotoxicity, with the benefit of a long shelf life. The incorporated L-alanine protects the unstable alpha amino acid group of L-glutamine. Aminopeptidase within the cells cleaves the dipeptide, gradually releasing both L-glutamine and L- alanine for use. Recommendation Dilute Glutamine XL the same way as L-glutamine in the appropriate cell culture medium. Typically, L-glutamine is diluted to concentration of 1-4 mM. Protect from light.
