Egg Yolk Agar Base, HiVeg, 500G

Egg Yolk agar Base, HiVegTM is used for isolation and identification of Clostridia and certain other anaerobes. This medium is used for isolation and detection of Clostridium perfringens and differs from the original formula by the inclusion of hemin. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk. Application: For Laboratory Chemicals, Analytical Purpose, Biochemical Analysis Appearance of powder: Yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder Gelling: Firm, comparable with 2.5% Agar gel Color and Clarity: Basal medium yields slightly opalescent medium amber colored gel. Addition of Egg Yolk Emulsion (FD045) yields opaque, yellow colored gel in petri plates Reaction: Reaction of 7.5% w/v aqueous solution is pH 7.6 ± 0.2 at 25 deg C
