DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium) is a widely used basal medium for supporting the growth of many different mammalian cells. With: High Glucose Without: Sodium Pyruvate or L-glutamine Cells successfully cultured in DMEM include primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells. We offer a variety of DMEM modifications for a range of cell culture applications. Applications DMEM is one of the most widely used modifications of Basal Medium Eagle (BME). DMEM was originally developed as a richer version of BME; with 4 times higher concentrations of amino acids, vitamins and some additional components than BME. DMEM is commonly used for the culture of normal and transformed cells. Recommendation Add L-glutamine prior to use at a final concentration of 4.0 mM
