Cyanine 5-dUTP replaces TTP in reactions in which it serves as a substrate for E. coli DNA polymerase (holoenzyme and Klenow fragment). Cyanine 5-dUTP can also be substituted for TTP in reactions involving T4 and Taq DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase (from AMV and M-MuLV) and terminal transferase. Cyanine 5-dUTP can prepare fluorescently labeled probes through methods such as nick translation, cDNA labeling and 3′-end labeling. These probes generated by Cyanine 5-dUTP are suitable for use for the identification specific sequences by in situ hybridization procedures on fixed cells and tissues by direct fluorescence detection. Cyanine 5-dUTP is also known as Cyanine 5-deoxyuridine-5′-triphosphate.Cyanine 5-dUTPis a labeled analog of deoxyuridine triphosphate used in reactions requiring a substitute for TTP.
