General description
Coumarin is also known as benzoαpyrone. Coumarin 7 is a laser dye that is usually found in the nature. Its derivatives are used in medicine and chemistry. It is present in plants in the form of glucosides. Coumarin acts as an antimutagen as it controls the mutagenic effects of several chemicals like aflatoxin B1and physical agents like ultraviolet light.
