General description

Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1 (UCH-L1), a thiol protease belonging to the peptidase C12 family, is involved in the processing of ubiquitin precursors and of ubiquitinated proteins. UCH-L1 recognizes and hydrolyzes peptide bonds at the C-termial glycine of ubiquitin. UCH-L1 is expressed in neurons and cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. Defects in UCH-L1 are the cause of Parkinson disease type 5.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human UCHL1.

Application

Detect UCH-L1 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-UCHL1 Antibody, clone MCA-BH7 validated for use in western blotting & Immunofluorescence.
